Glycolic Peels

Glycolic Peels

What is a Glycolic Peel?

A glycolic acid peel is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) chemical exfoliation treatment. It is known to improve the health and appearance of skin by improving its tone, texture, and helps to redensify the appearance of skin through collagen activation. Once there, the acid dissolves excess sebum and dead skin cells, revealing smoother, brighter, and younger-looking skin.

How much does a Glycolic Peel cost?

30% Peel is $150   |   50% Peel is $175  |   70% Peel is $250

What do Glycolic Peels treat?

Glycolic Peels tighten the skin by targeting fine lines and wrinkles, texture, and overall improving the skin’s complexion.

How are Glycolic Peels Performed?

Glycolic Peels are applied to the treated area and left on the skin for a short amount of time. We will offer a fan to help comfort the client. Then, we calm it down with a special neutralizing solution and apply a SPF 30 to protect your skin. We also use Glycolic peels post-microneedling or laser for best results. Some individuals may experience some heavy to light peeling several days post-treatment.

How many Glycolic Peels will I need?

We recommend starting with the 30% and gradually increasing the percentage as your skin becomes used to the peels. It takes a series to see true results from chemical peels . You will continue to see results from having a glycolic peel days later.

Who is a good candidate for a Glycolic Peel?

Generally, fair-skinned and light-haired patients are better candidates for chemical peels. If you have darker skin, you may also have good results, depending upon the type of problem being treated. We recommend starting with 30% and gradually increasing the percentage.

How soon will I see results from a Glycolic Peel?

The general rule is that you'll see results once your skin has fully healed. However, many will notice a visible improvement in their skin after one peel, but best results are obtained with multiple treatments over time. Just as it takes time for skin damage to accumulate, it also takes time to reverse it.

How long will Glycolic Peel results last?

Stronger Glycolic Peels are often a better choice to treat deeper wrinkles, laxity, and discoloration since there's more skin being removed and fresher skin being revealed once those aged and damaged layers are gone. With more repairs happening with a stronger percentage peel, you can expect results to last two to six months depending on what we are correcting. We still recommend starting with the 30% and building up to the 70%.

Are Glycolic Peels safe?

Yes, Glycolic Peels are a safe way to improve many skin concerns. It is absolutely crucial to follow your post-care instructions to protect your skin after having a glycolic peel treatment. Glycolic acid may increase skin's sensitivity to the sun and can put you at risk of sunburn and hyperpigmentation, so sun protection (physical SPF 30 or 50) and wearing a large sun hat are key to making sure you don't harm your face.
